Juan Cabrillo Elementary School’s PTA President David Kitay approached the group about doing this fundraiser, following a performance of Spurs of Love at Malibu Stage Company. Young Actors Project members agreed to the special show as a way to bring the community together, provide a fun family-friendly evening event in Malibu and to support the local elementary school. Everyone involved in the production donated his or her time and available resources.

The play titled, The Secret of Tin Can City was a collaboration between director Shoshana Kuttner, playwright John Litten and a 26 member cast of Malibu children between the ages of 6 to 14. The play raises awareness of the environment, individual responsibility, and protection of earth’s natural resources. Complemented with original music and dancing, The Secret of Tin Can City is an entertaining and imaginative look at today’s pressing environmental topics.
